9/10/2023 0 Comments Eleven stranger things actressEl's Void, then, may offer a way for this battle to play out, essentially turning it into a battle of the minds more than anything else. El needs to learn to fully harness her abilities, because it's her strength as a telepath that could be crucial to defeating Vecna whereas her telekinetic power and ability to open and manipulate portals allowed her to defeat Number One, that won't be enough this time because he is already connected to the Upside Down, with Vecna trapping Hawkins' teenagers in the red smoke area that represents his own mind. Now that Eleven's powers have returned, she'll presumably train harder and develop them more than ever before, under the guidance of both Brenner and Dr. That's likely what Stranger Things season 4, volume 2 will address. El's abilities are primarily driven (and enhanced) by fear and anger, which works in specific instances and battles such as against the Demogorgon, Mind Flayer, and Henry, but does mean she's not yet unlocked the full extent of her powers, nor is she yet able to use them without eventually suffering some side effects (which Stranger Things shows with Eleven's nosebleeds, as well as bleeding from her eyes on occasion too). This suggests that, by this point, Eleven has established herself as the most powerful of all of Hawkins' test subjects, the only problem is that she hasn't fully learned how to control her powers. The exception here is Henry Creel, aka Number One, who is powerful enough to massacre all of Hawkins Lab's kids, but by Stranger Things 4, volume 1's ending El is able to overcome him too, creating a portal that sends him to the Upside Down. Eleven is the only one shown who can resist Number Two's own telekinetic powers and defeat him, suggesting she's stronger than all the others. In the flashbacks of young Eleven's time at Hawkins Lab, she's seen being tested alongside other subjects most notably, this includes a "game" whereby the subjects each stand in a circle in turn, while another attempts to push them out of it. It has long seemed as though, even among the many kids at Hawkins Lab, Eleven is special, and that's something Stranger Things season 4 re-affirms. Eleven is also able to create gates to the Upside Down, as seen at the end of Stranger Things season 1 in Stranger Things season 4, volume 1's ending, she creates what appears to be a portal to the Upside Down, rather than a full gate, sending Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower), or Number One, through it. Along with this, there are also instances of her accessing the memories of others. Many of Eleven's other major powers are linked to her extrasensory perception and telepathy, which includes being able to enter The Void, essentially her own mind, which can then allow her to locate and communicate with others, sometimes across great distances, and the ability to learn about people via touching linked items. Eleven characteristically uses her hand to help her focus and channel these powers (and provide a visual to help guide viewers), although they're linked to her mind. Similar to these telekinetic powers, Eleven can also make objects levitate, and seemingly change physical matter in certain ways (such as destroying a Demodog). Season 4 also makes sure to really highlight the loss of the powers, such as when she attempts to use them on Stranger Things' new school bully Angela (Elodie Grace Orkin). This is something she impressively displays early on in the show, such as flipping a truck in Stranger Things season 1, and has used throughout in fights against the Demogorgon, Demodogs, and Mind Flayer, both to attack and injure or kill them, or to defend herself and others from their attacks (and often both). The most commonly used of Eleven's powers in Stranger Things is telekinesis, her ability to move objects (or people and creatures) with her mind.
